Mexican Food - New restaurant in Miraflores

Postby Alan » Mon Feb 11, 2019 3:13 pm

Hi...

I just tried "El Mexicano", block two of Manuel Bonilla (Miraflores). The place is new, just a couple weeks old. The food was pretty decent (though I admit to not knowing a lot about Mexican cuisine). They have a choice of either corn or wheat tacos, and a good salad-bar-esque counter with all the different toppings and spices.

It was a little warm in there, so hopefully they'll improve the ventilation with time, and the wait staff is still trying to get it together (they are all new), but like I say, the food was good, and as far as I know, there are not a lot of options for tacos in the neighborhood.

Is it more like a fast-food kinda place or a proper restaurant?

I read some of the online reviews. It seems to offer an all you can eat buffet.
Maybe Alan can clarify?

It's a proper sit down place, but not very fancy. It's fast food I suppose, but not geared to the take out market.

“All you can eat (pic from the menu-card (fresh made)) for only 45 Soles.”
“We were initially turned off by the all you can eat, but it was only an option, not mandatory. We ended up ordering from the menu instead of all you can eat.”
“The all you can eat deal is great”

Okay, I think I understand. It’s an all you can eat option.
Still, I wouldn’t want to gut load on Mexican food.
There’s once was a fellow named Montezuma and he had a revenge. LOL!
BTW, the reviews are dated from Jan. 2018 so it's been there longer than a few weeks.

Right you are.. my mistake.. Their Facebook page mentions a new location soon on Benavides in Surco. Anyway, nice to see that the options for international food continues to increase in Lima.
