The infrastructure in Peru is hard to build because of its Geography. High mountains at 5,000 meters over the sea level and then go down to 3,000 meters and the go up again to 4,000 and then go down ! . Besides the highway, we need additional tunnels and bridges, to go through this scenario
The work done the last 30 years has been amazing. All roads to main cities are already paved. Imagine how was Peru 30 years ago. The only paved road was the Pan-American highway in the coast. The rest of highways were unpaved dirty roads.
All cities as Cajamarca, Chachapoyas, Tarapoto, Huamachuco, Huaraz, Huanuco, Huancayo, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Abancay, Cusco, Arequipa, Puno, Madre de Dios, etc, etc. have paved roads. https://rpp.pe/peru/actualidad/cuanto-a ... cia-979260
