I have read Alan La Rue's posting on Law 28072 (new law to attract Foriegn Pensioners) and this seems to be the way to go. But I have a few questions. Must one apply for the "Rentista" visa prior to entering Peru or go to Peru under the "Tourista" visa and apply for the "Rentista" visa in Peru. Any idea how long it may take to get a "Rentista" visa. What proof do you require to show that you are retired? Is there a minimum retirement age for the "Rentista" visa as I am 62. What about private medical insurance in Peru. Is it available to foriegners and is it expensive?
