I hope that a lot of people come out to this event. Would like to see some familiar faces and some new ones as well. I know it's not for another 2+ weeks, but I am hoping that a lot of expats will come out. There is no cost to come, so if you think you will want to attent, let us know. I will definitly be there.

Kia,

I will be there for sure. It sounds like a really fun time.

Are there any others from this board who are planning to attend? It`s going to be a great chance to put some faces to some names.

Cheers,
Alan

I've just talked to a few folks and the guest list is now close to 40 people confirmed and a bunch more wanting to come. Looks like this is turning out to be a nice party for ACAP.

Hope to see a lot of faces out there!

I'm happy to hear that a lot of people are looking to come out.

Don't forget guys that you do not have to be a member of ACAP or belong to any club or anything. You can be an expat or Peruvian, or whatver.

Just come out for a drink or drinks, for 10 minutes, an hour or hours.

The advert reads, and I quote.

Looks like I won't be then as I was just going to "turn up"

OK, I don't know what has gotten into all of you people, but Summer must be upon us.

Si Senor now has close to 50 people calling in, so they are clearing a bigger room. It is also open to the public, so things will be tight.

I was reminded to add, YOU CAN JUST SHOW UP. RSVP was asked so that the restaurant would know how much staff to dedicate just for us.

At this point, they are going to be well staffed, so no worries.

Also, I was told that we won't be forced to wear name tags, so you won't be called out.

Glad to know this party is set to be an over-whelming success.

FYI... We have a section of Si Senor blocked off, and we can of course go to any part of the bar. The Hostess at Si Senor will be aware of the event and will direct you to the right place, so just say you are there for the ACAP party or Expat party and they will point you in the right direction.

OK, find your neighborhood "watchiman" and take his goose call. Now I am told there will be a gaggle of geese from Colegio Newton, FDR, San Silvestre and Markham.

Expats are coming out of the woodwork.

Wow!

Hi all,
I am new in town, straight from Rome. Great initiative this group!
Hopefully I'll be at the party. In case I couldn't: are there "regular" meetings planned during the week?
Thanks, see you soon.

Of course, camera-shy CJamie! You look good! (the only one dressed for a wedding  ).

I can see our leader, holding his jacket very close to him. Hello Alan!

And I see Newinperu! you have to change your name. You have been too long in Peru to use that name.

Yes, names of some other Forum posters would be nice.

Hey Jamie,

I need to apologize for my wife, who grabbed your camera and began snapping, thinking it belonged to somebody else.

It really was a nice get together. Thanks to the ACAP for pulling it all together for us.

Hey Alan, I was only kidding about the camera, I am very happy someone took pictures. I am using that as my cover in case some people are missing.

I thought there were more pictures taken, there are certainly a bunch of people missing. They were probably just taken later, after a people left. If Shirley would have not taken the initiative to grab your camera Jamie, we would have no pictures huh??

I still consider myself new in Peru, still being under a year here. Once the year passes we'll see...

OK, I guess I need to clarify. I am happy that someone grabbed my camera and took pictures because I brought it, but just let it sit on the table all night.

If someone would not have taken the initiative we would have no pictures.

That was the intent. :D

It's all cool.

ACAP Night out!!

Postby ACAPLIMA » Tue Dec 02, 2008 3:47 pm

Dear all,

Thank you very much for coming, we are just getting a date together for another Night out! I will keep you all posted and up to date on our next event!
I am glad you all enjoyed it, the pictures look great!! If you would like to find out more about ACAP, please do ring me on 222-6359 or visit our web-page on www.acap-peru.org Cost of Membership is $50 for a family or $35 if single per year. This entitles you to receive the ACAP Magazine to your home address every month and be invited to all our events. We have one Restuarnt Night a month and now that this drink Night went well, we will probably have one once a month!!

Our next event is our Christmas Party on Saturday the 13th of December. Here is the information:

You are cordially invited to enjoy a Christmas dinner in a lovely Victorian mansion built in after the turn of the last century in charming Barranco. This year’s Christmas party promises to surpass even last season´s wonderful event.

We invite you on Saturday, December 13th, at 7:00 PM, early enough to avoid the rush to leave Lima and the multitudinous Christmas obligations. The dinner will, as always, be sumptuous, and the cash bar will offer libations of wine to satisfy everyone’s choice. It is also Free-Corkage.

The price is S/. 60 per person for members and S/. 75 for guests so call Kia at 222-6359 soon, as we want to coordinate with the chefs and make sure we have just the right amount. As usual, there will provide a soft musical background to make everyone happy.
All members and their guests are invited. The address is 103 Saenz peña, Barranco. Please call as soon as you can to reserve.

We are also doing a "Give Christmas to a Child" so you are all required to bring presents for the Orphan Children of AVINABIF. They have asked us for hanging mobiles for babies and soft rubber balls the size of either a soccer or basketball and you do not need to wrap them if you do not wish to do so, as they will do that in the orphanage for us.

Please contact me if you are interested in coming, It will be great fun!!

Regards,
