August 2011

Welcome to the August edition of the Expat Peru newsletter. How many of you on the coast are starting to feel a little brought down by the lack of sun?  If it’s too much, don’t forget it’s easy to go a couple hours away and find some sun up in the hills. Lots of stuff has been going on over at ExpatPeru - if you haven’t been by lately, here’s a look at what you’re missing!

Expat Event Calendar  If you’re looking for something to do, stop by the Expat Event Calendar. Right now, most of the events that we get are planned in Lima – if you’re planning any events or get togethers in other cities, let us know – we’d love to get the word out for you.

Tuesday Coffees – We’ve got a great bunch of expats getting together each Tuesday at Starbucks – if you’re in Lima looking for company and conversation, stop by! Address and meeting time are in the linky.

Website Spotlight – This month, our Blog spotlight is shining on Translating Lima, a blog created by Kelly Planicie, an expat living in Barranco in Lima. Stop by and find out what got Kelly into blogging and learn more about her take on living in Peru.

Article Spotlight – Our tour of Lima’s districts continues this month with a stop in La Molina. Come and learn more about this upscale district in the sun!

Services Forum –  If you’re looking for a service you can trust, whether you need a dentist, a lawyer or a locksmith, check out our services forum. And if you’ve found someone who did a great job, please let us know! Leave a recommendation for other expats!

Did You Read It? – Lots of good conversation going on in the forums:

Classifieds: If you’ve got something you want to sell, don’t forget we have two methods to use – Our Buy and Sell Forum and listings in our Classified Ads!
