Peru and India to Enter Trade Negotiations in June

Recently, on March 8, 2017, Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) announced that it will engage in a new round of negotiations with India in order to achieve a trade agreement with relation to tariffs, technical barriers to trade, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, investments, movement of people, and cooperation among other issues.

The first round of negotiations will be held in June. This was made by Edgar Vásquez, Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, in New Delhi where he has been working with officials from both Peru and India to define the Terms of Reference for the negotiation.

Moreover, Vásquez announced that while the first round of negotiations will be held in Lima, for the anticipated second round, a Peruvian delegation will be sent to India in September.
