IHOP to open locations in Peru
In an effort to double its presence in Latin America, DineEquity, a US company and operatory of the IHOP franchise, recently announced that it plans to open 30 IHOP restaurants in Peru within the next five years. The franchise is seeking partners to assist with the opening of its new restaurants in the country.
IHOP has contracted Lizan Retail Advisors (LRA), a leading international retail industry consulting firm, to carry out the Peruvian expansion of the company. According to Daniel del Olmo, DineEquity’s international president, there are a number of reasons why IHOP has focused its growth in Peru. According to del Olmo, the Peruvian market is home to a number of successful franchise operators that would be ideal partners for IHOP. Currently IHOP is in the process of finding qualified entrepreneurs in Peru with the ability to introduce new brands to the Peruvian market.
It is worth noting that since 2014; approximately 80 new international restaurants have opened in Peru, with international growth and development being substantial.
