Does anybody know of a place in Lima that serves poutine? Or has anybody seen cheese curds in a Lima supermarket to be able to make it at home?

Applying for Peruvian drivers license using foreign license

Has anybody applied for a Peruvian drivers license using a drivers license from another country? I see on the Touring website that I can use my valid Michigan drivers license as part of the process and avoid having to take the road test. In addition to presenting the actual ID, I also need to provid...

Re: When is the best time to go shopping?

I would say the best sales for clothes are at the end of each season. Grocery stores usually have staples on sale at the end of the month (and sometimes around the 15th) because it is when people get paid. Electronics and goods tend to be on sale for fiestas patrias and before Christmas - convenient...

Thanks Argidd... I thought to use regular flour but after a few searches of "bread flour vs. all-purpose flour" it did not sounds like it would work as well. Maybe it works for certain breads, cakes, buns but a few times I saw that it would not be heavy enough for bagels. Somebody once tol...

Buying bread flour or gluten

I would like to start making my own bagels but can't seem to find the key ingredient - bread flour... Assuming it would be hard to find here, I did a simple Google search and discovered that I could use harina sin preparar plus gluten (1 cup flour + 1 tablespoon gluten). So I searched my local Wong,...

Hi all, just wondering where we would get great views of the city at midnight on New Years Eve to watch fireworks... I was thinking the Westin since it is has great views down Javier Prado but open to other suggestions (hotels/high-level restaurants/etc) as well.

The bus company Cruz del Sur just started a service between Cusco and Ollantaytambo. You would have to get from the Cusco airport to the bus station but that shouldn't be too complicated. It looks like it is $11 USD each way and they have 3 round trip times during the day. If you want to check the s...
