Re: Oktoberfest / Beer Festivals in Lima and Peru

Hi guys, I am one of the founders of the craft beer association in Peru and one of the owners of Cerveza Teach. It appears we need to do more marketing to the expat population. We had a CraftBeer festival in Barranco the second weekend of August and we had enormous success with one long bar of 26 ta...

Re: Permit for tinted windows Peru

I did get the permiso finally and used a broker to expedite the process. It cost me 900 soles and required only a little of my time. I was suspicious, so the broker, Martin told me I could do part of the work myself; comisaria para Los antecedentes policiales(30 soles)and Banco de la Nacion to pay a...

We have found Crepes Y Waffles to be our favorite breakfast place. Nice range of eggs, waffles, pancakes and of course, Crepes. It's also very reasonably priced.

Re: Decent beer in Lima - Found!

Besides my TeachBeer, I'm a BIG supporter of the other local companies. Barbarian, Cumbres, Sierra Andina are all doing a great job and now the Barranco Beer Company has finally opened it's doors as well. Cumbres has recently released their Maiz Morado IPA at 7.2% and made with imported Belgian malt...

Re: Decent beer in Lima - Found!

Hi there, my name is Tracy Teach and I have long complained about the absence of world-class beer in Peru. A country so rich in gastronomy, yet so poor in fine beer. I too, have spent far too much at Wong or Tottus on Delirium, Chouffe, Chimay, Duvel, Abbot, etc. I have taken matters into my own han...

Re: Permit for tinted windows Peru

That is a good thought, Argidd and for my next car, I may do without the tinted windows. I prefer the aesthetics of the tinted windows and the sense of security if my wife is driving by herself, so that thieves can't tell.

MarcoPE, yes it is $500 USD!?!?!

Re: Permit for tinted windows Peru

It was quoted as $500, I'll email back and ask for clarification, USD vs Soles.
Thank you for the link. I also came up with this link

Which seems quite laborious.

Re: Permit for tinted windows Peru

Does anyone have any updated information on this process? At the dealership, they put me in contact with someone who helps sort out the paperwork at the price of $500. Is that really how much it costs nowadays? I don't mind a slight mark-up,if it'll spare me the headache of Peruvian paperwork bureau...

Re: Citizenship by Marriage -- it's all changed

You guys are such troopers!!! After spending far too many months getting the CE and driver's license squared away, I don't want to get involved in any more bureaucracy here. Unfortunately, the CE is due to expire in three weeks. I'm taking the "easy" path and re-newing, but it doesn't seem...

I also visited the Peruvian consulate in NY a few times and my wife cleared up remaining questions in Lima with Aduanas. Same question, different answers between the consulate and Aduanas. Listen to Aduanas!

Hi there, my wife and I took advantage of this law back in July of 2012. We have been living in New York for the last nine years and have moved back to Peru. I am American and my wife is Peruvian. For the most part it is a very good opportunity. We shipped our belongings in a container from New York...

There is a very nice, young shaper named Dario Milano. He has been shaping boards in Lima for close to ten years. Go to his website http://www.derrem.com and get in contact with him. He can tailor boards to very specific needs and prices are cheaper than the more established brands. I've bought two ...

Looking for a Land Cruiser Prado

Hi there, my family and I are moving down in a few months and I'm looking for a used Prado to buy. Any suggestions on the best place to look, or is there anyone reading this who is looking to sell? In addition, we are moving from the US and I'm trying to see if it's worth it to ship a car down with ...
