Re: Import Tax Help

While trying to find some answers myself I found this blog a few months back: http://enviospostales.blogspot.com/2011/03/pagar-o-no-pagar-impuestos.html The title refers to internet purchases but he actually answers questions about all import related taxes; and he seems to really know his stuff. I d...

Re: Child Support of 17 yo Peruvian step-daughter

Here's an novel idea: how about you start thinking what your new responsabilities as a married man and as a father of a teenage girl are, before you start thinking about how to get away from them? I have a 17 year old daughter myself. I know what loving a child feels like and you do not love this ch...

Re: Daft Peruvian Myths

Yeap, my people have some very interesting science going on. But if "pasar el huevo" sounds interesting wait until you see a "pasada de cuy"; same thing but with a guinea pig, but at the end it gets open to see his insides and find out what is your problem (like a 3D MRI, but muc...

Re: Fare Sale - TACA Sept 1 - Nov. 29

I was getting really excited about this rate, then I checked Chepoair reviews.

A few people say they have had no problems with them, but most of the reviews say that cheapoair is a "bite and switch" deal. Just google "chepoair scam".

Re: do apartments typically allow pet birds?

If you're planning on breeding birds in a room then you might have some problems. If you are keeping a canary in an apartment then you don't even need to ask. This is my take as a Peruvian: pets are four legged animals that can harm the apartment. Birds in a cage, fish in a bowl and reptiles in a te...

Re: Writer's group in Lima?

I'm in touch with a couple of poets in Lima, they write and speak in Spanish. But at least one of them is very active and will probably know someone that knows where the door you need to knock is. If you can communicate in Spanish I'll get you both in touch, just send me an email within the forum.

Re: a good hamburger

I'm a little confused here: you went to Mc Donalds got a crappy hamburger and got pissed? If I ever go to Mc Donalds is because I'm looking forward to tell anyone that wants to listen how pink slime is not anymore what it used to be!

Jacinta, Most likely is what most people are saying about the difference between electric and gas ovens. Unless you're anywhere but in the coastal cities; la sierra and selva are a whole different ball game when it comes to oven temperatures and times (Boiling! now, that's fun in Juliaca!; I don't e...

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi all, I've been checking on and off this forum for the last few months and finally decided to register and thought I'll drop by and say hello. I'm Peruvian so I guess I don't qualify as an expat, but here's the story: 22 or so years ago I left Peru, not for the first time, moved to Paraguay and a ...
