No that's not her name. I asked a owner of another apartment here today about the water and how they bill for it and come to find out its included in the maintanence fee. So it's not even charged for. So yep the owners brother who "takes care of things here in Lima, while his sister in the stat...

We moved in under a verbal contract that we would rent month to month and that all utilities would be covered. So the utility usage was never set in stone. They did not mention what they would cover or not cover...i was under the impression they covered the utility. So last month I received a email ...

What is your average utility and water bill? What area do you live in? Apartment/house/bedrooms? Washing machine and dryer in your house? We have been renting furnished for 3 months and are having usage issues with the owners and what is acceptable usage to them vs what is average for our household....

I think you'll find many restaurants open, especially in Miraflores. I'm sure Larcomar will be open as well and there are several restaurants open there. Also, the Tiendecita Blanca across the Parque Kennedy has a Christmas Brunch. Sure, they will be open in Miraflores. Many gringos will spend vaca...

Miraflores is not a tourist trap. Their are many Peruvians that live their also. It's a nice area with awesome restaurants and great parks.

Anyone want to just pick a spot and meet their? Parque Reducto has a great bioferia on Saturdays and a play area for a small fee for 2 hrs starting around 11am. They also have a music circle that starts about 10:30- 11 ish too and it's free.

The hard thing for us was most places want a ridiculous amout for deposit, like first months rent, last months and one more for some other reason. And a years lease. I suggest having a dula w you when labor starts through delivery. Also attend some Laleche league meetings and talk w other like minded Maya's about birth options. Their is a LLL meeting in English this Wednesday in miraflores if your interested in going.

We found it today. In a store on Aerequipa....it's on the corner....I don't remember the actual name. Something "computers"..... A ton of different vendors who sell computer/cell phones etc. it was 10$ more than the US price.

First off, I'd come to Peru and take a look around at what other people are driving. And HOW they drive! Then think about what you feel is safest? I have 3 kids, 8, 4, and 18 months and we don't have a car. We get around perfectly fine with out one.
Where will you be living is a huge factor also.
