Latin Dance Classes and Voice Lessons

Hello

I've been in Lima for a few months now, and am looking to take a dance class. Any suggestions? It's just for fun, nothing too professional. Also, I want to learn some songs in Spanish if anyone knows of a good voice teacher.

Thanks,
Ashley

Where to find cheap books?

To All the Bookworms: I've been looking for a place in Lima to buy novels and other books (in Spanish), but every libreria I've visited is very expensive. I have heard people mention finding cheap books at certain shops, but I can't find them. Does anyone know of a good one? I know the quality won't...

Volunteer Opportunities

Hello Everyone,

I have been in Peru for a few months now, but I want to be more involved. Does anyone know what local or international organizations are here looking for volunteers?

Thanks,
Ashley

Bringing gifts

Hello everyone,

I'm coming to Peru next month and want to bring my host family gifts from the US. I thought of bringing chocolates, but I don't want to bring something that's available in Lima. I also need to find something for 12 y/o boys... Any recommendations??

Thanks,
Ashley S.

Flying into Lima

I have just bought my ticket into Lima, and the flight arrives after 1am. There weren't many other options for arrival time. Is it normal to arrive that late? Is it safe? I plan to get a room near the airport. Does anyone have suggestions?

Thank you,
Ashley S.

Teaching English

I will have my TEFL 120-hr certificate in December and am looking for a teaching job in Peru. Is it best to contact schools directly with my CV? I'm not sure of the reputation of these language schools. I have a list: ICPNA, Euroidiomas, English Life... does anyone have more recommendations? Or ones...

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hello Everyone! My name is Ashley, and I plan to come to Peru in February. I've traveled a bit, but never to South America, so I am super excited. What better way to improve my Spanish?! He estudiado por 2 años, pero me digan que para aprender mejor, neceistaría convivir con los hispanohablantes. Th...
