Returning with an Expired CE

I left Peru for over a year without canceling my CE. If I return for a short visit can I be admitted as a tourist? Would I have to go through the CE cancellation process before I was allowed to leave again? Has anyone ever had an issue like this? Any advice?

I was told that you have to go to Lima. I should be doing the canje within a couple weeks.

Re: Permit needed to leave Peru with CE?

I left for more than a year with a CE by marriage and I have left for short trips many times and I never needed anything. When I came back after a year I had to cancel my CE in the process of applying for a new one and didn´t have to pay any fines even though I didn´t pay my annual tax or renewal be...

Car Insurance

Has anyone had any particularly bad or good experiences with car insurance companies? Any recommendations? Who are the major companies besides Mapfre, Positiva and Pacifico?

XOOM-wire transfer receival fees

Hi,

XOOM´s costs seem to be pretty attractive to be able to have money sent directly into a bank account. I know for a fact BCP charged me $20 to receive a wire. Does anyone know how much Scotia and Interbank charge to receive wires? Any suggestions?

Power of Attorney at Touring-MTC

Has any ever used a poder to get anything done at Touring or MTC? My idea would be to have someone get the process started for me and then show up at the end when it was completely necessary. Thanks!

CE Approved on Website

Online it says my CE is approved but I am in a province. Does anyone have any tips on what to do from here? Are there any other steps or should I just book a flight show up to immigraciones in Lima?

Driving for 6 months on foreign license

Quick question. Can only tourists drive for 6 months with a foreign license? If I get my CE will I immediately need a Peruvian license or can I continue to drive until my 6 months are up?

Driving Test Exoneration outside of Lima

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has gotten a driver´s license outside of Lima? Was the process any different? Was anyone able to get exonerated from the test in a province? Thanks!

Re: Interpol

One other question. I got an official copy of my marriage certificate to give to immigration. Do I need to request a second copy to give to Interpol?

Interpol

I will be flying to Lima to go to interpol. They told me this is done at the beginning of the CE process now, not at the end. Do I have to go back and pick something up from interpol? Can i safely fly in and out on the same day?

How earlier can I renew a CE?

I always thought you could only renew 15 days before the expiration date but I can't find that anywhere on the immigraciones website. I might be forced to travel out of peru during that time so I don't know what to do. Also, on another note, can you apply and get your CE in other offices besides lim...

Getting a Driver's License in Lima while living in a provinc

Would there be any problem with someone living outside of Lima going there to get their driver's license? I have been having trouble where I am at. They say I can only do the driving test exemption in Lima. The driving test is close to impossible and there is no driving circuit. In 3 days I have see...

Sacred Valley Internet Service

I currently live in the north of Peru but I might be moving to the Sacred Valley. I work online and usually need at least a 2mb upload speed to get by. Does anyone know what internet services claro and movistar offer in Pisac, Urubamba, Calca or that region? Thanks!

Re: Package stuck in customs - options

I had the same thing happen to me. From what I understand I would have had to get a permit to import medicine as if I had my own pharmacy. I was told basically "why don't you just move to Lima for months and months". They did send the package back but the vitamins were missing.

Re: Driver's License 2013

Any word on this? I am about to try this process as well. Everything seems easy except getting your license "certified" by your home state. Please let me know if you found anything out. Thanks!
