What a surprise that a Trump supporter would threaten to come disrupt a perfectly nice Democratic event. Please don't.

Re: USA Election viewing

If you live in Lima, you can come to the Democrats Abroad election night watch party at the Real Club in San Isidro, Castanos 505. There's a bar and food and it's pretty nice. There is a Democrats Abroad Peru FB page where I think you can RSVP, once they make the event public.

Expats in Pachacamac?

Are there any expats in Pachacamac? Does anyone know if it's a good place to live? I am currently in Lima but I prefer smaller towns & nature to the big city. Thanks!

Re: Return plane ticket?

Thanks. I figured I would just say I'm coming to travel in Peru and I would like to stay for 6 months. Is that OK? Then I can change my status later.

Return plane ticket?

Hey all--If I am planning to stay in Peru, is it true I need a return plane ticket to show the customs official? Or can I just buy a one way ticket? Thanks!

I would like to move to Peru (specifically Lima) to teach English and/or work with animals. I am TEFL certified, have 10 years of experience with exotic and domestic animal care, and have visited Lima twice. How hard will it be for me to find work and get a work visa? Does it take forever to get a w...

Re: Coming through customs--probably a dumb question

I am an American female coming to marry my male fiance and live and work in Lima. So the consensus is that I should ask for 183 days and not mention the fact that I'm emigrating? After the wedding I will get my foreigner card so I can work.

Coming through customs--probably a dumb question

So I'm moving to Lima from the US in a few months. I am getting married to a Peruvian and we plan to live there for a few years. What do I tell the customs official once I land in Lima? Usually they ask how long you're going to be in the country.
