love my pets wrote:Amex, Discover, Visa/Master card use them all the time, paid off their balance on time, never paid any interest and never been charged any maintenance fee.
You paid about 4-5% more on all the goods you bought.
It is less likely to happen in Peru than in the states. Peru is controlled by a handfull of families that really much enjoy their control over the country and people and will not go quietly to allowing the people to use a non fiat money.
The reality is that few people have the discipline to use credit cards responsibility. The banks are in business to make money. They are not interested in people who are responsible. It is the irresponsible people who they make money off of. A perfect example of this was after the stock market colla...
Chi Chi. For once you are right. Since I bought my first house on credit in the 1970's and then lost it when I lost my job, I have never had a personal loan. Of any type. I save and pay cash and have grown a considerable portfolio of real estate. All paid for. Even my cars I pay for in cash. People ...
For a US passport, You need one photo and it takes 2 weeks. They will give you back your current passport untill you get the new one. Then they will void your old one. Then you need to go to migrations and have your visa transfered. I just did it.
Richie 10 years ago Peru opened up and a lot of manufacturing business popped up. Many CNC machine shops, some small foundrys and many plastic injection molding shops. They were growing quite rapidly due to the high demand. However When Peru instituted the free trade agreements, It made imported pro...
Have your son study as much math as possible. Math is what it is all about. The sooner he can get into Calculus and Multivarible calculus the better off he will be. It sounds like he is interested in Mechanical or another applied field. Call around to some Engineering schools in the states and see i...
Callao is way to small to suport even Peru itself. However even if it was bigger, the roads connecting it to the rest of South America and even out of the port itself are way too small. They really need to build a new port down by the LNG plant and build the infraqstructure while there is little to ...

I read it in a report from NOAA about 1975. We did a study of it regarding acid rain in school. It took them using lots of computers an entire year to calculate it. Ok they were old mainframes H-6000 I think. But im sure you couldnt calculate it in just a few hours on any computer that exists today....
Couldnt tell you off the top of my head but it is somewhere near 1/4 of the earth landmass. It is not just the surface either. It is subterranean. You have heard of caves. Good luck. You willneed to calculate the surface area as a zeolite too. If you take in Sub Sahara Africa, china, probably easter...
Another silly enviromental project. Probably funded by the US tax payers. 100,000 megawatts per year at an average of $50 per megawatt is about 5 million dollers per year in sales. Just puting the sales towards the principle it would take 37 years to pay off the principle. This is no profit, no repa...
And which climatologists might these be? Show me the list. I bet most arent even scientists with any real status. I hear these same tall tales that you do. I call my friends and ask them which of them agree with this. They know no one who agrees with the concept. Believe it or not my first field of ...
I agree. However they do treat my daughter different. They always want her to be the person up on stage, in fromt of everyone. Even the teachers call her a gringa. It has nothing to do with her singing skills. She is not very good. It is because she is blond and blue eyed. The really funny thing is ...
I havent found a good electritian or plumber in peru yet.. Im sure that has something to do with the low pay. In Africa however I have met some very good tradesmen. Suprisingly they have a aprentice system in place that works well. Not perfect but ok. I once had a mechanic repair a blown head gasket...
They are simply adequate. Not trained tradesmen. How many electricians do you know who can rewire a a/c or d/c motor? Even troubleshoot one internally? Or Roll draw and insulate their own wire? ( my grandfather used to do this. Quite amazing to me) How many sheet metal guys do you know who can pound...
Well, you stayed in business. I pretty much went Gault. There was really no future in staying in business. I tried to explain to my employees and get them to make some concessions but they wouldnt budge. So I just quit. Shut the doors. Boy were they shocked. They couldnt imagine that someone would j...
Hey... We agree. :D Anyhow a little about standards My daughter is 4 and goes to a preschool in Lima. She has blode hair and blue eyes. Aparently they had some sort of class on equality then the next day a class on diversity. One day they told her that everyone is different. People should be treated...
That is almost funny Chi Chi. Tax (and punish) others who work hard for their money just so you can give the money to others. Not that taxing will help anyone except the people who benefit from the increased spending. However what are you gonna do when the people do stop driving their cars and you h...
Yep. Exactly. My experience is the same. Minimum wage is for unskilled workers. Make work workers. Convenient workers. Skilled workers can name their price depending on their skill. When you set a minimum wage you decrease the amount of available jobs. You may increase the average wage but you decre...
Politics IS conspiracy. Nothing more, nothing less. It is a small group of people trying to force and manipulate you to do what they want. For their goals, not yours.
Of course its warming. In certain places. Not everywhere. Where I live in the states if is getting colder. The Ice didnt melt untill the beginning of the month this year. Over the last 20 years it has been staying longer and longer. It was all melted by the beginning of May 20 years ago and had stead...
Matthew 17-24: After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax came to Peter and asked, "Doesn't your teacher pay the temple tax?" Matthew 17-25: "Yes, he does," he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. &q...
Americorps. Ive met him. Have you? Ive also met Obama before he got elected. We are at the same point as most 3rd world countries. Who do we elect. The dictator or the communist? Both will eventually kill us. Only the methode is different So no real choice there. Presidents arent elected anymore be...
Im not a bible thumper, however the bible is of great use in historical thinking of peoples and cultures long gone There are verses in the bible for cases just like this. So it goes to show that peoples in the past had numbers placed upon them and got tired of it for some reason or another. Revelati...
The amount of carbon on the planet has never changed. Just its form has. The CO2 created from the amount of oil that exists or has been extracted from the earth is minuscule compared to the CO2 that is created from natural processes such as decomposition of Limestone. A great deal more CO2 is produc...
Americorps. Ive met him. Have you? Ive also met Obama before he got elected. I used to believe like you. But experience has changed that. Ron Paul is a much better leader than Obama. But Obama got elected. Obama is a puppet of others. He was placed there. The reason Ron Paul cant win is all about co...
the warmer it gets, the more water vapor the air can hold. The more water vapor the more rain and snow and the glaciers and ice caps replenish themselves. It is just a cycle that has always been there and always will. Now if you take account that Peru is also being thrust UPWARD in mass, it is highl...
There are 2 forms. One if you made money and one if you did not. Just get one of each and keep with your passport. They dont have them at migrations Here is the one if you made no money. 1495 http://orientacion.sunat.gob.pe/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1037:02-ique-obligacion...
Yes, he is not american so the 30% applies to him. But you really need to check things like the free trade agreement and other trade agreements. There might be discounts for the type of business you do.
It works the same in Peru for Peruvian businesses contracting with overseas businesses.
Mmmm. Lunch. :D On a more serious note. Most of what he said is factual if not necessarly correct. Like the most cases of polio today come from the vaccines. Fact. However if we stopped giving vaccines, there would in a short time be millions of cases. So as Spock once said. "The good of the ma...
well, it not really all that hard if the government isnt standing in your way. http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/06/23/clothing-designer-builds-nuclear-reactor-brooklyn-warehouse/ You may want to familiarize yourself with NYC then. Suppes' project was within compliance of existing rules and regul...
Many companies in the US just dont declare the expence to foreign contractors. They cant write it off so it is taxed at the profit tax rate. Even if they pay the profit tax it is usually less than hiring someone local so the company wins. But it is far easier and less headaches to do it that way. Th...
For them to be able to pay you And deduct the expense) , a TIN Tax payer ID number is required. They are required to withhold 30% of the payment untill you file a US tax return. You may or may not be required to pay the full 30%. It depends on treaties and all. Welcome to the IRS. :D Good luck. http...
Here is a pretty good article about the problems that can be encountered using only digital methodes of money. The article is mainly about future economic problems, But even a glitch in the system can cause problems. Just remember that banks operate on a global system. An event in the states or euro...
I guess I'll jump in on this...The other thing that happens when I take out several transactions of $100 a red flag goes up at Cap One and they either call or put a hold on the account. Then I have to explain why, and they open the account again. And, ATM machines should be free to use since your g...
Its not the pressure, it is the volume of water flow that is important. The gas ones are very suseptable to exploding if the water flow fails so they require more volume than the electric ones. However the electtric water heaters wont work in many apartments and homes. The places just plain dont hav...
Exancly what are the statistics and conditions they are using? Anyhow. As I always say, Perus economy has nothing to do with mining. The mining is just a small part of the equation. Perus economy is based on borrowing. It just has the illusion of being good. When the investors pull out (which should...
Working without pay is an anomal situation (very rare cases, some of them called workers Ad honorem), so actually even if a worker wants to work for free you have to pay the taxes regarding his expenses for your SA. Is it possible/legal for someone to work without pay in spite of the minimum wage l...
