So, Vizcarra announced Intl flights to begin on Oct 5! My wife traveled up to the USA again on Sept 22 and now will not have to take another repatrication flight home!

The poor do not have the ability to wash their hands, disinfect their food and living space or social distance from family members. They also do not have the luxury of working from home on their laptops, avoiding risky situations, having groceries delivered, etc.

Also heard that several people on the flight have now tested positive for covid and are stuck in the hotel. My wife was allowed to leave Tue morning.
If she opted to leave earlier there is a s/.2000 multa.

Not entirely sure, My wife had a private room, we heard some of the people who wanted to switch from a joint room to a private room were charged 200 sols/night.

I have had instances (Oxapampa) where the bank had no money and had to wait around for a business owner to make a deposit before I could withdraw. I was aghast at time, but now it's pretty comical and I always bring lot's of cash when I travel outside Lima.

They should have taken your temperature before you boarded the bus for the airport. What bus? I have never taken a bus, they do not go to check in. I always take a taxi or friend. Late July-early August, according to the most recently published plan. For now all flights are leaving out of the military airport south of Lima.

Register with the Embassy if you want a flight. My best friend left yesterday on the Latam flight to Miami they run periodically.

My friends have had their help "shelter in place" with them. We could not do that as our help has children at home. We have continued too pay her salary, but are unsure of what we will do in the future as we can not have her tested everyday!

The problem is American citizens are restricted from all International travel now. You are only allowed to return to your country of residence.

Depends where you are living in Lima as it is a desert. Along the coast in Miraflores (where I live) the weather is beautiful. Warm days offset by Ocean breezes and cool nights.

After writing NVC and the Lima embassy asking for help, The embassy quickly responded and informed my Wife of her interview next month! You will be required to file a Fincen 114 yearly and the interest you earn will be taxed as well. The money will not be insured. Failure to file the Fincen will result in stiff fines and possible loss of passport. You will have to pay the financial transaction tax to the Peruvian Gov as well.
