Re: Building houses/apt for profit.

Thanks for the information. Would you mind if I pm you? I really could use a friend who has done this before to help me avoid a few of the more common pitfalls. Thanks!

Re: Building houses/apt for profit.

Well a gringo didn't buy it :). My inlaws who are Peruvian purchased it and gave it too us. My wife also Peruvian so no one will find out about the gringo connection (hopefully). It is in a gated community near the Los Andes golf club. From what I am seeing construction costs are around 300-400 per ...

Building houses/apt for profit.

My wife is from Peru and we have just been given a 149m2 lot 30 km east of Lima. We are thinking about building a two story house or apt building on it.

Has anyone done this for profit before? We could use any and all advice. Thanks!

Re: Reliable Corredora

My wife graduated from Cenfotur in 2000 or 2001. She has a ton of good memories and I hear it is an excellent school. All of her friends from there seem to be doing very well.

Has anyone just up and moved?

My wife is Peruvian and her and our daughter are there on a vacation right now. They are loving it, my daughter is telling me on skype I should come there and she doesn't want to come back. :) I am seriously debating leaving everything behind and starting over. Has anyone just done that? We wouldn't...

Unfortunately some neighbors awoke early. It seems a group of people came from Chincha, dumped masa on the coals, then later wrapped it in corn husks and walked around the neighborhood shouting, TAMALES! TAMALES! Don't forget the "CINCO SOLES"... Or thats what they cost last time I was th...

Good healthcare (as long as you have good insurance, and are willing to visit the doctors quite a few times to find out whats not urgently wrong with you). It has really really amazing ...

Just finished a breakfast conversation about this topic. On the plus side, my wife is glad to be back in Chiclayo because: She is back with friends and family. She can speak in her language. It is much less expensive to live in Chiclayo. There is more opportunity for social activity than we had liv...

Moving Soon Possibly... Need Help & Your Thoughts on Job

Hi, I am debating on moving to Lima - MiraFlores area fairly soon. I am not worried about housing, living there, moving our stuff, or cars but I am worried about finding work. I do not speak Spanish except at the level of a 2 year old. I do have a BS degree in telecom design & management, but ha...

Hi, this is my first post... I am looking at moving to Peru from the states. My wife is from there and has lived here since 2001. She is back home right now for over a month, and I can tell you a few things she complained about... 1 - Gossip, people offer to help and get mad when she doesn't let the...
