or write the number of days on it

That´s correct, you need to show only an onward ticket to any destination out of Peru! There is no law that requires you to have a return ticket . In the past i have used several different hotels in Peru
and they have always photocopied my passport and TAM
but i guess it depends on which Hotel you go to
