Re: Where do you shop for [blank] in Lima?

There is no general price compiling website for shops in Peru far as I know. (Maybe a market opportunity for someone?) But you certainly can get prices and buy online for certain shops (Sodimac, Maestro, Ripley, Saga, Wong, etc.) Our general strategy is: Weekly grocery shopping: Plaza Vea (cheaper t...

Exoneracion de tasa anual 2017

Has anyone, married to a Peruvian, done the exoneracion de tasa anual this year? Did you need the acta de matrimonio?

Last year I didn't need this document, but the digemin website seems to indicate that it is necessary.

Thanks.

Re: Has anyone obtained a new carne de extranjeria recently?

No one else? A few weeks ago, I flew to Piura with LATAM (formerly LAN), and sure enough, had to fight to convince the (deliberately?) obtuse check-in employees that, despite the absence of stickers, my carne was valid and I should not have to pay their non-resident surcharge. I am going to contact ...

Re: Has anyone obtained a new carne de extranjeria recently?

Could you tell me which carne you have? (Rentista, trabajador, familiar, etc) I suspect, from previous posts, you are a rentista, in which case nothing may have changed - I believe rentista carnes have never required stickers.

Has anyone obtained a new carne de extranjeria recently?

If so, does it still contain spaces for stickers at the back? Or has it been redesigned? I would like to know because it is a significant problem (for me at least - and I assume for (many?) others) that DIGEMIN have stopped issuing the stickers which, according to the design of the carne , prove leg...

For up-to-date info your best bet is to contact the UK embassy: https://www.gov.uk/government/world/organisations/british-embassy-peru/office/british-embassy-lima I have generally found them fairly responsive and helpful, although the hours when you can call are limited. Re: Shipping computer parts (CPU, GPU) from the US to Peru

You can see a router is allowable if wired only. WIFI is not allowed. Which is a bit odd considering the US wifi bands are actually more restrictive than the Peruvian ones... The list presumably refers to imports from anywhere. And there are certainly other regions whose allowed bands do not match ...

Re: renewing my carnet - no more sticker space in the back

Having just completed this process I can answer the original question. The "Duplicado del Carne" process is indeed the correct one; you need form F-007-A together with the receipt for payment (49 soles) at Banco de la Nacion and a photocopy of your carnet. You also need to have paid (or be...

I think they may have stopped issuing tax stickers altogether. They register that you have payed, but there will no longer be proof of this on the actual card.

Interbank have always charged me a flat rate of $18 for receipt of international transfers. Might be worth adding that when you return to pick up your carne + sticker after applying for the prorroga (they don't seem to issue it same day any more), you need to take: receipt they give you + passport + copy of passport.

Re: Selling apartment bought with passport

It shouldn't be relevant that your apartment is registered to your passport - that serves only as an identifying document in the SUNARP records - what matters is whether you are tax resident or not. If you are tax resident then you have to declare the income to SUNAT, and will get taxed I think 5%. ...

We've recently hired a nanny and want to get set up with SUNAT in order to pay her state health insurance (Essalud). According to SUNAT, paying her Essalud will oblige us also to pay 13% of her salary into the state pension scheme (ONP.) Our nanny doesn't want this, she would prefer to keep her gros...

Here is a useful site that lets you compare accounts offered at different banks in Peru:

For institutions that are members, there is a deposit protection scheme that covers up to S/. 87645, details here:
