Re: Permit needed to leave Peru with CE?

I leave every year but never over 3 months and never needed any paper work, just show my CE with my passport. I can tell you though that if you are gone a year, 1/ you will miss paying your annual fees which will cause a problem and 2/ your CE requires you to be in Peru for at least 6 months of the ...

Money going out of Peru

Looking for someone who has recently sent a large sum ($30K + US) out of Peru (to Canada specifically) or just knows the system. I am just trying to confirm if somewhere along the line, in Peru, it gets dinged with a 19% charge. I am not in Peru right now and am having a difficult time in nailing do...

Asked for "Propina" to get CE - what can I do about it?

Hi everyone. I am living in Cusco and I applied for my CE (through marriage) Jan 2012, in Lima. Things appeared to be moving well and then completely stalled. Immigration kept saying the papers "are upstairs waiting for approval" but nothing else was happening like updates to the website w...

Just for interest sake, Canada now has a Visa Application Center in Lima. The turn around for my wife was one week and no interview. Seems dealing with them in person has advantages. It's not free and they will do the entire process with/for you - forms etc and guide you through the entire process. ...

Sending/Moving money to Peru

I am sending money to Peru and I have used xe.com for other exchanges and wires in the past. Better than bank rates and there is one flat fee for the wire charge. For those of you who have moved larger sums of money what are the additional "fees", if any, along the way. One statement made ...

Do they take an imprint of your teeth or something or just look? If they don't do anything other than just look, I find that strange. Personally, doesn't matter what spin you put on it contributing to corruption is in no way a good thing and benefits no one in the end. Sounds like people only contribute to corruption because it is more convenient for them rather than suffering through the consequences of their own actions.
