Happy to report that I got my CE renewed through the online process. The new CE is a digital version (PDF file) valid for one year.
I did have to write to them again (by email) yesterday after not hearing from them for more than 2 weeks. And within 24 hours, I got an email with the good news.
Even if you have updated your information, it seems that they are disappearing from their system. I recently learned (when trying to renew my CE) that they can't find my new passport information that I informed them using ACTUALIZACION DE DATOS soon after getting a new passport 5 years ago. Go figur...
Sorry to hear about your experiences rudder. Reminds me of what I had to go through 10 years ago when I moved to Peru. All the improvements Migraciones made during this past 10 years seems to have come undone during the pandemic. Believe it or not, I have had better luck sending emails ([email protected]...
My CE (familiar) is expiring in November. I went to the Migraciones website looking for directions and it seems that everything has transitioned to a NUEVA AGENCIA DIGITAL (https://agenciavirtual.migraciones.gob.pe/). When I try to start the process (DUPLICADO DE CE), it asks me choose the location ...
hello all, i would be moving to the USA (from lima) in a few months and need to ship some household stuff (mostly books and artwork). can anyone recommend a company they used and found the service satisfactory?
OK, finally got through to Migraciones on the phone (after calling and confirming with Ministerio del Interior)! *Prorroga de Residencia*, and many other paperwork, has been shifted to the Miraflores branch. The *Miraflores* option is after *Tarapoto* when you are selecting on the online reservation...
I tried a different browser - same result. The online system only gives the choice of cities, not branches. If I am not wrong, only some procedures can be done at the MF branch, e.g. renewing your CE.
Hello all, I have been trying to book an appointment through the online system to pay for the *prorroga de residencia*, but every date and every time slot I choose for the entire month of October says that it is full. Has anyone tried to book an online appointment recently? Has it worked for you? I ...
I had no idea they have stopped having that requirement. Their online system accepted my application till 2018!! Thanks for the confirmation and happy Migraciones abolished one more unnecessary paperwork.
Hello all, has anyone tried to do the process of *Exoneración del Pago de la Tasa Anual de Extranjería* online (through: https://sel.migraciones.gob.pe/SEL/AccesoPublico) this year? I have been completing the process online for the last 3-4 years, but I have been unable to this year because the uplo...
I have been attending classes to obtain my driver's license. Today the instructor said foreigners are required to get a declaracion jurada from the Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones (MTC), submit two passport photos, etc - in short, extra stuff that is not required of Peruvians. I tried to ...
Just wanted to clarify because the instructions seems to have been removed from the Migraciones website. For the Familiar Residente category are only paying the S/. 25.60 fee and not the $50 fee. Normally the latter fee is not required for those married to Peruvians. This is still the case, right? G...
i am planning to buy a mountain bike and hang panniers at the back to carry groceries, etc. any suggestions regarding bikes and panniers given what is available in peru? please recommend any bike shops that sell bikes and gears at reasonable cost.
my parents (~70 years old) want to visit and spend more than 6 months. they will need visas to enter. anyone with similar experience? any advice to avoid unnecessary hassles with renewals (e.g. border runs, etc.)?
i just did this today and i only had to do the *traslado de sello* process. the officials did not ask me to do the other two (*cambiar de datos* and *duplicado de carnet*). i asked about *duplicado de carnet* and they said that it was up to me if i wanted to update my carnet (to show the new passpor...
i just had to renew my passport and my embassy asked me to register this new passport with DIGEMIN. according to this official advisory *all foreigners are required to pay the requisite fees and get the immigration entry stamp affixed on the new passport BEFORE their departure from Peru*. has anyone...
thanks huayruru for posting your experience. i also just returned from DIGEMIN after completing the Duplicado de Carnet process and it is exactly as huayruru described. the only comment i will add is that it is possible DIGEMIN would go back to the sticker system in 2016 because the new carnet has s...
i was travelling outside the country in november and my prorroga was due the same month. i could only get an online appointment for mid-december and i was told that leaving without an up-to-date carnet would make re-entering impossible (you will have to get a tourist visa and have to reapply for a n...
hello everyone, all the sticker spots at the back of my carnet are taken. paid my prorroga in november, and with tasa anual coming up and no space to put that sticker. wondering what is the process to get a new carnet in this situation. any information is appreciated.
Did you install it wirelessly as a repeater or connect it to the LAN? the TL-PA2010 connects to your existing modem+router from claro/movistar via ethernet cable and plugs into the nearest power outlet. the TL-WPA271 plugs into any other power outlet in the house and creates a wireless network with...
i recently installed a TP-LINK Powerline wireless adapter kit (TL-PA2010 + TL-WPA271) in my apartment and its working great. i consider this technology to be more reliable to improve wireless (or wired) internet access to any part of the house/apartment. bought them in Compupalace for almost the sam...
hello everyone, sorry to bother again with yet another DIGEMIN question... has anyone tried to set up an appointment at DIGEMIN using the online system recently? i am trying to set up an appointment to pay the Prorroga and the system says that there are no appointments available in the near future (...
can't help you with the diploma question. this policy could be specific to the school. regarding health insurance and AFP: yes, if yours is a full-time job with at least a year-long contract, you would get signed up for Es Salud and the AFP of your choice automatically (both are deducted from your p...

according to the digemin website you do not even need the passport and spouse's DNI...but they just keep asking for whatever they feel like.... http://www.digemin.gob.pe/servicios_inmigracion_exoneracion_extranjeria.html I didn't have either and they asked for my spouse's DNI....i pointed out the we...

those with full-time jobs here in peru....have you come across any decent comparisons of the products of the various AFP providers? between Prima, Integra, Profuturo and Horizonte?
when i got my marital CE two years back, there was supposed to be a police verification by home visit. a police officer was supposed to come to the house where i was living at that time. to speed up the process, we had offered to pick the officer up from another inspection nearby, but in the end the...
due to my working hours, i am unable to go to DIGEMIN to pay the tasa and the prorroga. would it be possible for my spouse to pay the fees without the need for my presence? perhaps she needs a notarized letter from me?
wondering if anyone has been successful in mounting their flat-panel on the wall with a contraption that allows vertical movement. i would like to move the TV up and down.
