On the way south to Asia there is a big colorful billboard extolling the virtues of recycling. As I drove by last time there was a big garbage fire burning below not a hundred feet away. If I hadn't been the one driving I would have taken a photo as it summed up the situation here perfectly.

Yes, about 40 min to an hour to get there if there is no traffic (such as 10pm).

Getting back can take longer with Costa Verde still only going one way. Picked up someone from the airport last week and getting there was no problem. Getting back sucked.

Went to the burger place Papachos in Mira Flores the other night. Very good burgers. Super expensive though. I paid 28 soles for the burger (which was pretty large) and 19 soles for a chocolate shake (which was disappointingly tiny). Pretty good service, at least. The waiter even spoke some English....
