We're in Miraflores, in a private home, though, not a building. Our bill this month is S/.295, and that's pretty much average. We're anywhere from 3 to 6 people living here at anyone time, with a washer and dryer.

This max user connection problem doesn't have anything to do with your internet service - it's about too many people logging into the forum at one time.

Couldn't tell from your post - are you male or female? If you are a young woman, we have a shared room (with a bunk bed, tv, shared bathroom, full house privileges) for less than you pay now in a location that would be perfect for you.

If it's done right, the beans are more mashed, like Mexican refried beans, when mixed with the rice - and then it's formed in a large, thick patty and fried until crispy on the outside - so yummy. :)

But if you don't like beans... well, probably not for you. :(

In Radioshack I bought like a plastic mousepad, but that actually sticked to the mouse, and I had it replaced by a standard one. Just make sure you buy one in one color, as an optical mouse does weird things on a colorful mousepad ( with a photo for example ) Maybe I'll check a couple other RadioSh...

We pay 10 soles for menu just about every day - but they send me an email with their selections for the day , allowing me to order online - and then deliver to my door. Large portions, good flavor. Having compared many 'menu' in my almost 9 years here, I consider it worth the 10 soles.

There's a Samsung store in the new CC on the corner of Angamos/Marsano in Surquillo. Very expensive there, though.

Mercado Libre, as mentioned above is a good choice for used, but take due care, like not meeting someone alone.

ChiChi's advice of planning to stay in a hostel or hotel for the first two or three weeks is a good one. It's always best to check out the place - and the neighborhood - before you rent.

Ripley's online shopping site has some really good deals sometimes - they have an "internet" price for a lot of products that's much lower than the store price. Probably lasts years model stuff that they're trying to get rid of, but still, really good prices.

The further east you travel, the less humidity. You will not find "realistic" home prices in Lima right now. Business, food, home centers are available in most districts, depending on what part of the district you're in. You don't mention accessibility to work - would that not be a concern...

There are vaccinations for kennel cough (bordatella). Pets should always be vaccinated for it before being boarded.

And yet, it's improving the lives of the quinoa farmers, and bringing money into countries that need it. Perhaps instead of blaming people for trying to be healthy, which just seems odd, we should ask why the respective producer countries don't look into ways to increase production and lower prices?...

Both of those places are very close to Miraflores. I live in Miraflores - the area of Surquillo I'm talking about is a 10-15 minute walk - about 10 blocks.

Magdalena is 10-15 minutes by car.

USTVNow has a free service that provides the basic broadcast networks - ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox (not the news channel) and the WB.

They have an extended cable option that offers 20 some odd channels.

They also have some more expensive options with HD, Digital recorder options etc.

Personally, I would not take a female dog to a free spay clinic. Neutering a male is a fairly quick and simple procedure, but with a female it's equivalent to a getting a complete hysterectomy for a woman - I really would rather have my dog done by a vet that I trusted in a clinic. Magdalena would likely be a good choice.
Surquillo is good - but the South-eastern side is where you want to go (near where Philip lives) - it's a very quiet area and close to everything.

And credit cards are very easy to get - I see people all the time in the grocery stores purchasing a couple hundred soles of groceries on a 24 payment plan. :/
