I don't believe the cost of living in the country ( provinces) is really much of a indicator , how much do they spend on commodities that the city person has to buy , that they make them selves or is naturally available. Transportation, utilities, so on and so forth. The same holds true for country ...

I pay my association fees every month, from Florida to Lima Banco de Credito no problem, the super gets it in his account, I also pay my taxes that way. Have sent several cash gifts to sobrinos y sobrenas

Ya the tax situation is what I'm concerned with, I'll pay my peruvian taxes on the sale, I don't think there would be any problems states wise, as long as you deposit it in a check, or wire, cash is what they look at.

Yes it is a private bcp account and it would be a fairly large amount, would it be better to get a cashiers check? We are downsizing selling and buying smaller, but I will have a profit which I want to send or take to the usa..................thanks

Then pay cash!!!! NO! why tie up a bunch of capital that you can't get to easily who knows if you will need the cash for what ever reason, being liquid is smarter, if the economy improves your ahead if not you stand to less likely to lose what you have put in.

Nice piece of property I agree with the previous statement that you should finance in the U S if you are going to put half down that doesn't leave a big loan but why put so much down? and tie up your capital, good luck 20% would be more like it.

It may be easier to qualify now in Peru but in the years past in the us you didn't have to be a legal citizen, no money down , they would lend you the money for a down payment, how could resist ?
