I'm still a bit confused, is this car here or in the States? If it is int he States it can not be imported as it is more than 5 years old. We know because we just sold our expedition (2003) before coming, would loved to have brought it but no way.

I spoke with another Peruvian here who is married to a Mexican and he assured me we could do it without a fine but he mentioned leaving with a Peruvian Passport. Wouldn't they automatically ask for the American passport to confirm how he entered the country since the Peruvian one would be blank?

Does anyone else have a take on this, is now not a good time to change dollars into soles? We've been doing so in large amounts which of course if this is true we may want to hold on as 3-5 soles difference is huge when you talk of large amounts. What are other's take on changing now or later?

In case anyone else is looking we ended up taking G&M, very nice service and I would recomend them. I believe also Real is a good choice, we checked them out as well. I would not recomend any others as they are all a step below as far as buses go.

In Lima I would say only Hep A, maybe typhoid if that is an issue. Check El Comercio as my husband mentioned he saw some advertisements there for a fairly good rate. There are many non-brand name companies that rent much cheaper but like the last poster said, not sure how helpful they might be in an emergency.

I could be wrong but isn't that the Saturday market next to Parque Reducto... I could be completely wrong but that is what comes to mind.
