Mike, there is a tax charged on things shipped into Peru, I am not sure of the percentage but have heard it is near 30% . But maybe others here can anwser that better for you. I do know shipping cost to and from Peru are costly.

Mike, The best advice is to get your passport and come to visit Peru first before making that big leap, Peru is nice but It is not for everyone. Spend some time here looking around and shopping around for Apartments and food cost to see just how things are. Lima is not the bargin it use to be.

Mateo, yes in the states it can follow you if the landlord reports so it hits your credit report. this has a cost attached to it. Some not all do this. Here In Peru I doubt most if anyone reports,as it would cost them money to do so.

I use the 'S" Bus to the airport, not the combi. the bus (cooster) passes for Larco and down Pardo. I do not use combi's as i feel they are dangerious. Taken the bus allow 1.5 hrs travel time. Then return with a taxi.

I think the OP means that she has not renewed her Visa , not that her passport in out of date. If that is the case , yes it is that easy. when you leave you will have to pay a fine of $1.00 per day over stay.So far there have been no problems returning to Peru after an over stay. Good luck.

Yes , I have used them many times over the years , and arrived safe. They drive direct, no stops along the way. they have 2 class of service, I recommend the better class (seats on the first floor).

The best bus to Arequipa is IMO Cruz del sur. Take the night bus down,about 8 hrs +- sleep on the bus.
