Don't forget to register your cell phone

I haven't seen any threads on this recently, so thought I would post it as I just learned about it.

If you use a pre-paid cell phone, you need to register it by tomorrow, otherwise you will get your service cut off.

I believe with most carriers you can do it online.

But don't you register actually when you buy your pre-paid card? When I went to Telefonica to get my sim, they asked for my dni and everything. So I guess, I should be registered then!?

I think if you bought it relatively recently then you're OK... in my case I bought mine in October of 2009 and didn't have to give them any info to purchase it.

No actually it was long ago, in March 2009, but that was Claro, now I have Movistar and if I am not wrong, I also got it without any documents.

Hmm, strange. On the movistar-site I cant find anything about a registration.
