25w 110V light bulb in Lima?

Postby ajwildey » Fri Oct 10, 2014 1:37 pm

Silly me, I screwed a 25w 110v light bulb into a decorative light here and it exploded. Neither Sodimac nor Maestro carry anything like it (complicated by the fact that its candelabra base is a smaller diameter than the E14s). Any idea on where I can find such a rare commodity here in Lima?

Hmmm... given that Peru works on 240v, I'd be surprised you'd find one. However, you can have a look in the Centro Ferretero on Tomas Marsano. It''s on block 14.

We found some 110v bulbs at Maestro in Chacarilla. It was a bulb for a refrigerator.

Correct me if I am wrong, but from what I have been told, lamps are not really 110 or 220, it's the bulb that matters. So I believe you can pick up any 220 bulb that will fit and plug it directly into the 220 outlet and you should be good to go. I am almost positive that is the case. You may want to ask around, but that is what several long time exists have told me. Hope that helps.

Yeah PeruFan! I've learned so much about electric things in these past few days, haha.
If anyone needs lightbulbs in the future, markets off of Jirón Lampa have pretty much every single kind of bulb you could possibly imagine.
