Renewing a Carné de Extranjería

Postby chelsearob77 » Wed Nov 12, 2014 7:59 pm

My Carné de Extranjería (that I have due to being married to a Peruvian) expires on the 7th January 2015 (in less than two months time) So I'm just enquiring on here as to what steps I will need to take & the costs involved to renew it?

Thanks people I await your helpful advice on this matter.

Kind Regards

Just went through the process for paying the prorroga de residencia. I believe if you are in Lima you need to make an appointment to do so, in the provinces it's only a day to drop off the papers and return the next day to pick up your carnet with the new stamp. Here are a few threads with the details. Note at the end of the second thread my post showing a newer form letter you need your spouse to fill out. Being married to a Peruvian you won't have to pay the $50, just the smaller fee. Also go to the home page, in the blue bar near the top of the page, under legal issues/immigration/carnet de Extranjeria, there are topics including renewal. You also need to pay the Tasa Anual (or not), which you should be able to do at the same time considering it's due between January and the end of March - one less trip to migraciones. ... encia.html
