Apt. Rental

I am currently looking for an apt. to rent in Lima for 6 months. I have emailed people from Craigslist Lima and off of this expat website but it's been 2-3 days and no answers back. Are there any other places to look for rentals or roommates where I might have some privacy too. I'd prefer my own pad if possible though but don't want to overpay either. Is there a Newspaper or anything when I get there? I should be there in two weeks and seriously looking for a place to stay. I'm not a noisy person and want to be able to cook for myself as well at times. I will have a guitar to practice on and relax with (i'm not a pro).

Hi clewis564,

Whats your budget ? I have a 3 bed apartment that I would like to rent it out in the centre of Miraflores.

Probably not enough for a 3 bdr. apt. Was hoping for $300 a month or less. I'm single so don't need that much space.

Hi, you can find some info on the "Roomates" section of this forum. I'm actually offering one room, but I gather it's a bit above what you want to pay ($370). I'd suggest you to check it out, just in case. ;-)

There's also a Facebook group, Flats and Flatmates in Lima, where you might find some more info.

Other websites would be and

Hope this helps!

You won't get an apartment in Lima for $300 a month. Difficult to even get a room for that nowadays. That's the reality I'm afraid.

If you don't mind a dodgy area or downtown, then you could possibly do it.

I have to agree with Lloyd - you're not going to get a lot for that price - at least in an area you'd consider nice enough and safe enough - especially as you're a tourist on a short-term rental. You might find rooms for rent in shared apartments on this webpage for that price. Another alternative for your budget is the South American Explorers. Have a look on their webpage.

It is possible to pay only 300, but it would most likely be a shared aparment. I am living in an apartment now with two other people and we are each $200 including wifi, water, light, and it's furnished. The Sunday newspaper in Lima has pages of announcements of departments, but only check out the ones on Sunday because the other days of the week only have a couple announcements. You can also try or Good luck!
