Also, where can I unlock the phone to use a Claro SIM?

Have a look at this link, also there are loads of shops selling everything to do with phones all over Lima.The old market behind Plaza San Miguel near me is full of them.

Compupalace on Arequipa Av. (at Enrique Palacios) in Miraflores. You will find original and knock-offs. The stores that service phones are upstairs on the second and third floor. (might be more, but these are the ones I have visited).
