Can I bring my lighter inside the airport?

I’m travelling to Peru soon and I’m curious if I can take my lighter with me. Back here in the states, they’ve already given a leeway when it comes to lighters. They allow one lighter per person inside the airport. I want to know if this applies to the airport in Peru too. They might not allow me to take my lighter with me when I travel back to America. If anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it.

Ah a true smoker. How I remember those days gotta plan ahead and hope you can even find a place to smoke truly discriminatory and unfair to be regulated as to where you can consume a perfectly legal product
As I remember coming into Peru there is no problem. Leaving I would always give it up to avoid any hassles.

In case of you decide to not bring your lighter, you can get it everywhere . Just ask for a "encendedor"

Not everywhere. Lighters are not sold in the airport, no matter what you call them. I find sign language works perfectly lol.
Best thing to do when coming is to have back ups in your carry on and hope it makes it and definitely in your checked.

What about lighter fluid?
I have an old Zippo that I'm gonna bring out of retirement.

I have seen some of those little metal bottles with "gas" in the downtown of Lima. Unfortunately cannot remember exactly where, but next time I see one of them, will send you the address.

After seeing some pictures you are looking for "liquid fuel" instead of "gas"

Check if they have it at:

My native language is Spanish, not English

Try to be kind

If you are still curious about the "gas" vs "liquid fuel" dilemma, you may PM.. :D

You are Welcome.

Someone who do not speak every day English could understand "lighter fluid" (new word to me) the same as "fluid for lighter" . Physics teaches that "fluid" could be a "gas" or "liquid"
