New Years 2010 - You're Invited!

We're going to have a party at our home for New Year's Eve, every one is invited. It's going to be a mixed group, Peruvian and expat. There'll be music and plenty of room for dancing.

We'll provide snacks, sodas, mixers and ice - Bring your own bottles and beer.

You Chiclayo folks ought to get something together - there's enough of you there to have a good time! I'm hoping sometime this summer to get up there and visit with my mom, she'd like to see more of Peru, and I'd like to meet a few of y'all.

Kelly: What a wonderful invitation! Not knowing anyone here, not knowing our way around, and fearing spending New Years alone in our tiny apartment, we made a reservation at one of the restaurants at Larco Mar, thinking that we can have a nice meal, see some fireworks, etc and still walk home late that night. But had I known, I would have loved to have gone to your party. I think it's fabulous that you've made such a nice open invitation. Hope that you have a wonderful time.

We just came back from Chiclayo, hung out with SInglefather and his 2 kids and wife (Xmas eve lunch)
A wonderful family.

We are headed back to Chiclayo Jan 16th.

I will find out from my wife if there are any plans with the family here in LIma.

This is pretty cool, a chance to meet the crew here at expat.

I will not be able to make Kelly's party since I will be out of town, but I can tell you that I have had the chance to meet lots of expats through this site and also from my Expat Facebook site. I have been able to make some pretty good friends, just by an online connection. Pretty interesting to say the least.

It is definitely worth it. If you can make Kelly's party, you will enjoy sharing war stories with your fellow expats.

Kelly seems to understand Peru pretty well, so I am sure it will be a delight.

Don't forget to take pictures to post later.

Well, for those of you who didn't make it - you missed a great party. It's 6:30 am now... and I'm about to go to bed.

But don't worry - we're doing it again next year!!

6:30 and the party's over! Well, it's obvious we missed a good one. Once we finished our (pre-paid) dinner at Cafe Cafe and watched the fireworks out over the shore, my head was telling me I had listened to way too much incredibly loud music. And we knew we had to move the next morning from our December short-term apartment to our January short-term apartment. So we crashed - and obviously missed the party of the year at Kelly's place. We would have loved to have had the opportunity to meet you all. Glad to hear Kelly say there will be a party next year. Hopefully we will be back by that time. Thanks again for the invite, Kelly!
