Renting a house on the beach nearish lima - any suggestions?

Hi everyone,
I posted this on livinginperu and thought I would try here, too.

We're looking for information on renting a house at the beach near Lima (within 2 hours drive is ok).

We are trying to find something relaxing, family -oriented, affordable, not too fancy, which will sleep 10-12. We'd like to hit the beach during the first week in March. We have only one small child, the rest of us are adults. We all speak Spanish (most of the group are Peruvian).

What areas/beaches do you recommend? (we want to avoid the Asia area as our age spread is 17-85 years)
What's a reasonable weekly rental rate for a house that sleeps 10-12?

I suggest search for southern beaches (no northern beaches).

Among the places that could fit into what you are looking for could be: San Bartolo, Cerro Azul, El Silencio...

I suggest go there and see by yourself... (restaurants, neighbours, transportations, etc)

Thanks for the suggestions all. We ended up using the casadeplaya.com web site, which was very helpful. We found a beach house about 30 minutes outside of Lima (South) near Punta Negra. A good time was had by all. If you are in Lima (we were not at the time) I do suggest actually visiting the house before renting it to make sure it is what you want.
