Lunch Places in Barranco

Postby edgeclinger » Thu Apr 18, 2013 10:13 am

Planning a "girls' lunch" in Barranco. Any suggestions? Prefer low to moderate prices. Good food of any style. Charming / interesting / historic is a plus. And by the way, what ever happened to Juanito's Bodega Bar on the Plaza? It was one of the most interesting places around, and the last couple of times I was over there, it appeared that it is gone!
Thanks for any input you can give me.

I like both of "Javier's" locations on the old Bajada.

Canta rana is a cevicheria in Barranco fun and relaxed restaurant but is a little bit noisy, You have to go before 1:30 p.m after that hour the place would be packed.

I've eaten once at Istanbul. Nice decor and friendly staff. The food isn't Turkish at all.
