You could try Malabar or AmaZ. Normally very pricey, they are offering lower-cost set meals as part of Lima Food Week. In fact, you´d get a nice memorable meal at just about any of the places listed:

The meal that my wife and I had at Malabar is by far the most memorable dining experience i've experienced in Peru. It wasn't the quality, but for the quantity of food that amazed me, so little for so much $$$$$.
Thank god Bembo's is just a couple of blocks away for a top up.

I grabbed a sándwich at Subway at Jorge Chavez.
Way better than that disgusting greasy slop they served on board the United Airlines flight.
Even a hungry stray dog wouldn't have eaten that slop.

Thanks for all your input. Our last three meals were at El Bigote, Café Café, and Pardo's chicken right before we left our apartment at 11:00 pm for our 1:20 am flight. Nothing spectacular, but we had many memorable meals during our 2 month stay.

Not high cuisine, but a pretty good choice! Iconic places, at least Pardos and El Bigote.

good choice on Pardo's Chicken. maybe we should have a poll on who has the best pollo a la brasa.

Pardos gets my vote.

I find it incredible how many places serve up Pollo con Sangre. I can't help feeling that I'm the only person sending it back instructing them to show a blow torch to it.
