The OP is looking for reasonable priced real estate.
$191000 is only for the happy few.
Reasonable is $10000 to $35000
There are villages in the provinces where you can buy a 2-3 bed house for a ''reasonable price''.
They are generally a 10 -15 drive from the mayor cities. They advantage is that those villages are quieter, less traffic, no pollution and friendlier people who live there.
Picota, Buenos Aires, Pucacaca are some of those villages where you can a nice enough home for a 'reasonable' price. I had a house in Buenos Aires. It was 30 minutes drive from Tarapoto. It had 2 big size bedrooms, living room, separate kitchen, bathroom and a small store room. It had a view of the river. It was an old house but was in a good condition. I repainted it, stuck new doors and windows in it and installed a new bathroom. I paid $15000 for the house and it costed me another $4500 get it done up.
Lovely neighbors, river view, fresh food at the mercado, quiet, fresh air, no crime,...
Much better than those $191000 cramped Lima flats with their thin walls, low quality finishings, covered in smog and the free concert of car alarms you are obliged to listen too all day.
