Maybe Human Activity Must Stop at least 2 weeks per year in the World ?

Postby windsportinperu » Wed Mar 25, 2020 7:32 am

The Good Results of 15 days of Lockdown in Lima are now visible.. Since March 16th, We are on the 10th day and we can see birds on our beaches in Lima

Maybe we should reconsider to stop our human activity for 2 weeks as part of a new way of thinking and new values , in the World ?

I think you are onto something, there.
There are people in the world as we speak that want to eliminate All human activity.
Starting with banning air transportation. Stop raising cattle. Banning internal combustion engines. Stop fishing the oceans.
What a wonderful world that would be.
Those are just off the top of my head.

It will be interesting to see what the shifts will be in values and priorities when this all blows over. Since it is such a long, drawn out trauma - as opposed to a one-off cataclysmic event - people have more time to ponder. We will also need to see how much human damage slamming the brakes on the economy does. If you have savings and a decent place to live, it's a nice holiday, but if you share a room with 5 other people who earn their living wage day to day, this experience will leave a different impression altogether.

I hope all of you are well.

To use baseball terminology, Mother Nature bats last.

Of all species that have existed on Earth, 99.9 percent are now extinct. Nobody can accurately say when, but Homo Sapiens will eventually just be one of the 99.9%. Earth will continue, lilely healthier for mankind's absence.

That is a good observation. Governments will think twice before panicking and scaring their citizens to death again with lock downs and imposing 3 year prison terms if they dare to go out in the open fresh air.

You see them frequently in the beaches around Lima, but not so much along the Costa Verde. Noise, maybe?
